Hello, my name is

Shubham Agarwal

Finance Student

Hello! I'm Shubham Agarwal, an Honors College student at the Rutgers Business School - New Brunswick, NJ. I'm currently studying Finance, and I'm looking to build a career on Wall Street.

My Background and Upbringing

I’m the son of two Indian immigrants who came to the United States with nothing to their name. Despite facing countless hardships and challenges, they were able to build themselves up to success and live the American Dream, thanks to capitalism. I plan on continuing their legacy and building my own through a career in finance.

My interest in finance originated from watching personal finance videos throughout high school, through which I learned to invest my money into passive income sources such as real estate, the stock market, and other assets. I did more market research and found a strong interest in deals. Big deals. This opened my eyes to the world of banking, M&A, and private equity.

Skills

Throughout my time at Rutgers, as well as involvement in extracurricular activities, I’ve spent countless hours taking part in programs, clubs, and jobs which have taught me various skills that I can use in the workplace.

Financial Modeling

One of the most crucial skills required in the finance industry is building a three statement model. With coursework at my university, as well as certificate programs I've taken, I'm able to create fully linked three statement models.

Real Estate

As a co-founder and financial manager of my own real estate investing company, I've developed a lot of technical knowledge about the real estate market, different investment strategies, and generating wealth with houses.

Sales

Being able to sell yourself or your services to others is highly beneficial in the financial industry. With my experience at various sales jobs, including at Apple, I've been able to significantly develop my skills in revenue generation.
